Let’s take a peek inside my diaper bag as a first-time mom to a 9-month-old! 1. I found this bag on Amazon for a great price, and I’m so happy with it. It’s not fancy, but it’s practical, easy to clean, waterproof, comfy to wear, and fits a ton. What more do I need? 2. On the outside, I have a hand sanitiser that I refill constantly—such a lifesaver! Plus, I added a pacifier holder, which makes finding the dummy a breeze. No more rummaging through the bag! 3. In the two external pockets, I keep face towels for quick access and his little slides in case he wants to walk around when we’re out. 4. The front pouch is for bottles. It’s insulated, but let’s be real, most bag insulation isn’t great. Thankfully, this one has a zipper, so I added a heat pack, and it keeps the water warm for so much longer! 5. Inside, I have a portable changing mat and always carry 3-4 nappies—better safe than sorry! I also pack baby wipes and formula. I love my formula holder; it lets me control how many scoops I need based on his hunger. 6. I also have two outfit changes because the weather in Sydney is all over the place. One warm outfit and one summer outfit, plus a hat and beanie! 7. In the top pockets, I keep medical supplies like Baby Panadol, teething gel, and a thermometer (just in case). I also have paw paw ointment for dry skin or cuts and some cotton buds. 8. In the zipper section, I store Sudocrem for nappy rash, Aveeno baby cream, and some nipple shields from my breastfeeding days. 9. Finally, at the bottom of the bag, I have a wrap/swaddle and a nose sucker! And that’s my bag! Everyone packs differently, and you learn what works for you along the way.
